About Derrick's Pawsitive Dog Walking
Hi my name is Derrick and I own Derrick's Pawsitive Dog Walking.
I am fully insured and DBS checked and hold the NarpsUk Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Business Course Certificate (Which also includes first aid). I also hold a certificate in Pet Psychology.
I work on my own walking dogs one to one or accompanied by one other dog allowing each dog to receive my individual attention. I own a large estate car fitted with 2 dog crates of the highest safety, accommodating small, medium and large dogs.
I also have good experience of walking and caring for reactive dogs.
I offer walks for half an hour, 45 minutes or one hour and can arrange to meet you for a free consultation to discuss you and your dog's requirements, likes, dislikes and tailor walks to suit their needs. While in my care all dogs are treated like my own with plenty of love, care and attention. I have a recommendation from my vet confirming I am a caring and excellent handler of dogs and also have many 5 star reviews.
When your dog is wet I will towel dry them after their walk, in addition to walks I offer a pop in service, a sitting service in your home and a dog taxi service.

I have always loved owning and caring for dogs since I was a child, I currently own Luca a 2 year old German Shepherd and have also enjoyed looking after friends and family dogs for many years so decided to use my passion and experience by becoming a professional dog walker to spend my time caring for and walking dogs.

I cannot recommend Derrick highly enough. He is an absolute lifesaver. We needed someone to walk our large breed dog at short notice as we were going away. Derrick is very polite, organised and reliable. There was a heatwave at the time and Derrick was very conscious about that and put the dog's wellbeing and safety first. Very good communication. We have used Derrick many times over the last few years to look after our two dogs. He is trustworthy, on time and consistent with his visits and walks. We trust him completely to take care of both dogs, one of whom is nervous and the other is a little hyper. I have been using Derrick since January 2023 for our rescue Labrador/Retriever. He is always punctual and never lets you down.
Our rescue was very nervous at first and quite jumpy. Now going on regular walks with Derrick he runs to the hallway when he hears his car pull up and is excited to go and I have to wrestle to get his harness on ready. Derrick has a lovely calm manner with Ajay and I feel he has a reliable safe pair of hands with our boy. Totally recommend him.

Derrick provides an outstanding dog walking service for us & our young Border Collie. He is punctual, professional and most importantly extremely caring and understanding of our pup’s needs. My Dog is stranger reactive so I knew it would take quite a bit of effort for her to trust someone new. Derrick has been so patient with us, joining us for walks in the beginning to get her used to him being close by and being very slow and calm on all of their interactions. Having taken the time to build the trust with her, she now wags her tail when he comes to the door for their weekly walk and happily walks out with him each time.

At the drop of a hat and due to unforeseen circumstances, Derrick was able to fit us in and walk Charlie for a period of 6 weeks, until I was up and back on my feet again. Charlie loved going for walks with Derrick and even when we see him now, Charlie goes mad for him. Derrick was always on time and nothing seemed too much trouble. I would highly recommend Derrick

We used Derrick to walk our German Shepherd whilst we were away on holiday for a week.He made every effort to fit around the timings we needed even though we gave him such short notice. Derrick has been visiting my 2 dogs for a couple of months and he is absolutely fantastic! One of them is particularly anxious but was automatically so calm around Derrick straight away.
