About Garthside Pet Care Service

I live with my husband in a spacious bungalow set in secure gardens and paddock. As we live in quite a rural setting, there are plenty of country walks to explore in addition to the nearby Wyre Forest. As a life-long animal lover, I enjoy offering a variety of pet care services. I am honest, trustworthy and very reliable, having worked previously in education and banking. Until 2013, our beautiful 13 year old golden retriever Millie, also shared our lives and enjoyed the company of our doggie guests but is very sadly no longer with us.
I offer 'home from home' dog boarding for your sociable dog where he/she will be welcomed into our home and be treated as part of our family, enjoying the attention, comforts and exercise they need. Medication can be given if required. Pre-arranged visits are welcomed.
I also offer boarding for small pets such as guinea pigs etc. inclusive of bedding and veggies where appropriate. I have two indoor guinea pig cages plus indoor and outdoor runs. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own cage.
Additional services include a daily pet care visiting service where home-alone pets, such as cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, or a variety of pets can be fed and fussed to your requirements in your own home. I also provide pop-in visits to customer's properties to feed hens and check they are secure.
I have been CRB checked and have Pet Business insurance. I hold a Pet First Aid L2 Training Certificate (ProTrainings.uk) and have also taken the NARPS Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Course.

Homeboarding for dogs
I have been granted a Licence from Worcestershire County Council, to continue to offer Home Boarding for Dogs in our home. The Licence reflects the higher standards offered here. I currently charge £25.00 per night for one dog, £39.00 per night for two dogs and £48.00 per night for three dogs that live together from one family.
Customers provide their own dog food but I always have treats and biscuits in the cupboard!
Small Pet Boarding
Guinea pigs are charged at £6.00 per day (£9.00 for two sharing) and also includes shavings, hay and fruit/veg treats.
Cat Care and Small Pet visits to your home
I charge £10.00 per visit, for up to 3 pets. Mileage costs at the rate of 50p per mile will apply after the first 2 miles travelling distance from my home (DY14 9RA).
Customers who live within 2 miles of my home have discounted rates which mean I can make two visits per day, offering a reduced rate on the 'per visit' charge, for up to 3 pets. Additional pets will require a further charge, dependant on time and care involved.
When offering Home Boarding for dogs, I have customers who live near and far. I currently have customers from Bayton, Clows Top, Cleobury, Tenbury, Hopton Wafers, Rock, Callow Hill, Bewdley, Kidderminster, Hartlebury, Stourport, Droitwich, Worcester, Bromsgrove and Sutton Coldfield.
I generally offer Cat Care and Small Pet visits to homes within a 10 mile radius of my address - DY14 9RA.

Homeboarding for your sociable, friendly dog -
Your dog will be welcomed into our home (no kennels!) and be treated like one of the family. He/she will enjoy home comforts, attention and exercise in our secure garden and be taken on local walks.
Please note, I cannot accept aggressive or uncontrollable dogs and all dogs must be house-trained.
A pre-booking visit with your dog is required.
NB. Please note that it is now mandatory that Home Boarders are licensed with their Council. I have recently been assessed and consequently awarded, a Licence that reflects the Higher Standards offered here. I look forward to caring for doggie customers old and new!
Small Pet Boarding -
For guinea pigs, small pets etc.
Price includes hay, shavings and fruit/veg treats where appropriate. Guinea pigs can enjoy exercise and fresh air in the outdoor or indoor runs.
Feed 'n Fuss visits for home-alone pets -
Ideal for cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises or a variety of pets such as hens, where moving them may be stressful or difficult. Also for dogs who may be spending a long day alone. I can visit your pet to provide company, food, change litter or let out into the garden etc and break up a long day. Please note that I am no longer offering a regular dog walking service to new customers, having made the decision to now only walk those dogs that are boarding with me and also my current dog walk customers.
