About Turner&Pooch

I own Turner and Pooch and have been established for almost 6 years now.  I started the company myself  and now have a team of 12 taking care of dog walking and house sitting.  We also care for rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises and chickens either at our homes or offering a holiday pop in feeding service (we also offer this for cats).  I am a qualified groomer and microchip implanter. As a company we also offer training and behaviour advice for dogs, a pet taxi service and nutitional advice for dogs.

Just collected my rabbit, Blue, following her first holiday of the year with Nikki. Nikki and all at Turner & Pooch look after the animals really well, so well in fact Blue doesn't want to come home!!! I would recommend Turner & Pooch to anyone looking for pet services.

As well as my bunnies being provided with a large amount of space during their boarding Nikki also provided me with advice on bonding my rabbits which proved very useful and has worked perfectly.

Nikki was recommended to us recently by a friend as we wanted to get our Guinea Pigs nails clipped and bathed. She collected them and brought them back to us after their "spa day". Nikki has also called round and offered advice when one of them had a scab on his foot which was very helpful and reassuring. Had the most wonderful service from Nikki. My nan recently passed away and we therefore had her cat to look after, Nikki visited him twice a day to feed and spend time with Thomas (the cat) - a service that was invaluable. Thomas didn't like being lonely so this service Nikki provided was ideal. We needed to re-home him but needed to wait until after my parents got back from holiday. We asked Nikki to care for Thomas while they were away to give us more time to search for a home for him. It just so happened that a day or so in, the neighbour was willing to re-home Thomas (what a god-send!), Nikki helped me with this every step of the way, she put the cat before herself, not caring that re-homing the cat would mean she would miss out on two weeks business. He is now with a loving family. You cant not notice her love for animals and genuine care for them. If you are worried about leaving your special pet at home while you are out or on holiday, you needn't, Nikki is the best person for the job. Cant thank you enough Nikki, all the best. Marie xxx

10 rodents is a huuuuuuuuuuuge ask for boarding for a week but Turner & Pooch didn't flicker an eyelid! They were watered and fed so well they didn't want to leave! And why not? Because the boarding is a five star hotel for your beloved pets :-) Next time, the animals are flying to Spain and I'm staying at Turner & Pooch boarding. Thanks, Nikki xx

Felt completely happy leavings 2 guinea pigs for 10 days with Nikki. She is an extremely caring lady. Her operation is very professional. She looks after your pets as if they are her own. Rosie stayed with Nikki for 16 days over easter. She had a lovely time she had a lovely hutch with heated pads to keep her warm. She came back home wormed too. I think she had lots of fuss as since she came home she has been following us around and is actually tapping us with her paws if she thinks we are not giving her enough attention....

As my husband was reluctant to leave our dog in any kennels i had to search for somewhere both husband and springer spaniel would be happy with. I visited Nichola with both, and they both loved the visit. I left my spaniel here for 2 weeks and wouldn't have the slightest hesitation in leaving with Nichola again. When we picked him up he was happy, fit and healthy - but he could have been happier to see us - I think he rather fancied staying on with his new friends. Can't recommend enough!!

Nicky looked after our two dogs for the first time - barney & stanley - whilst we were away over the new year. Nikki is superb ! Her passion and love for all animals not just her own is infectious and she has made not just Jarvis our puppy cocker spaniel but also me feel so welcome and like old friends. Nikki is so accommodating and flexible to my varied working arrangements and is always willing to share her vast knowledge and guidance on brining up our puppy. I highly recommend Nikki to anyone who treats their animal like their children. Jarvis comes home so happy and smelling and looking fantastic which allows me to be content at work knowing he is so very well loved and looked after. I was amazed, but very happy to oblige just how much paperwork and forms we needed to complete prior to Nikki taking Jarvis on. I am very big on little personal touches and Nikki has made a very big impression on Jarvis, my husband and I.

In summary Nikki is a very professional, dedicated, remarkable lady. We are all incredibly happy with her fantastic service.

Always a relief to know when I don't have loads of time to prepare that Nikki will help as best she can to accommodate and ensure my dogs get walked. This was Bella's 2nd visit to Nikki's and she couldn't wait to get from the car to Nikki's front door. Bella is very happy when we collect her and is obviously very well looked after. Before Turner & Pooch was established, I aways left my 2 dogs in a kennel. Although they were cared for, I was never really 'happy' leaving them there as I'm sure many a dog owner would appreciate that feeling.
However, Nikki takes a lot of care with your loved ones, walking them, playing with them, grooming them and making sure their diet is the best for your pets well being. They are 100% 'home from home', and I would not hesitate in leaving them in Nikkis care for any length of time, what ever the occassion in the future.

Nikki looked after our Jackapoo puppy Bella for 4 days, she is only 6 months old so I was a little apprehensive about leaving her. It was clear after having the introduction meeting that Nikki is very experienced and professional and Bella would be in safe hands.
It was a lovely touch to receive photo's and a text showing how Bella was and I had no need to worry as Bella fitted in with Nikki's dogs so well and when we collected her she was certainly a very happy little dog.
I would 100% recommend Nikki, and will definitely be using her again.

Nikki looked after Harry my mini schnauzer who historically is wary and scared of anyone outside of our household-
I needn't have worried because of the professional approach Nikki took to ensure he seamlessly 'moved in' for a few days. Initially he walked with other dogs outside the house to familiarise himself and from then on he never looked back.
Upon picking him up a few days later, he had clearly had loads of exercise. He was knackered, happy & also a little love sick when he got home.
I would totally recommend Nikki & if Harry could talk, I know he would too.

My dog astro stayed with Nicola for 6 nights and I have to say he was more than looked after and cared for. He has come back to us extremely happy and relaxed. Nicola kept in touch with us to let us know how astro was doing which put our minds at rest. Would 100% recommend her as we have had a great experience and know anyone else will too.

Nikki looked after our Lurcher, Hector whilst we were visiting from Wales for a birthday party. He was very well looked after, walked everyday and formed an excellent relationship with her existing dogs. Would defo use again when we next visit Essex
