We are a small team consisting of one or two family members who muck in with their walking boots and occasionally look after the technical side of the business but Teresa is the main pet carer, with a wealth of 24 years experience. Teresa holds the leads, wears the muddy boots, drives the vehicle and cleans out the litter trays and she always has time for cuddles with your fur family and plenty of energy for walkies with your woofers.
Teresa has an impressive employement history within the care sectors, education, the arts, and is a qualified Youth and Community Education worker. She also has experience as a professional drama and dance tutor for children, young people, adults, people with learning difficulties and the physically challenged, all of which show a passionate enthusiam for people. Teresa's experience of pet sitting on a voluntary and professional basis goes back as far as the start of this millenium in 2000.
Teresa's first pet sitting assignment was as a house pet sitter, for her manager, when she was working as a Health Care Assistant. The next professional assignment was as a house dog sitter for the principle of a dance and drama school where Teresa coached young people in performance workshops. This was followed by a friend of Teresa's recommending her to another friend. Between the years of 2000 up to 2010 the recommendations kept escalating with countless voluntary pet sitting and dog walking assignments. It was from these recommendations that Teresa realised she had a natural flair, not only in caring for people, but also caring for their pets, of all sorts of breeds, shapes, and sizes.
During 2011 Teresa decided to develop her knowledge of animals, specifically dogs, by researching animal behaviour, animal welfare, and the pet sitting profession, turning her enthusiastic interest into a vocational profession. In addition to Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Teresa has developed her interests further into dog training and behaviour courses with certificates of attendance on `2 Day Career as a Dog Trainer' Course, the `4 Day Practical Instructors' Course, and `Canine Aggression and Rehabilitation' courses with the IMDT. Although Teresa is not a qualified Dog Trainer and Behaviourist you can rest assured that she follows the ethics of kindness in her work and will happlily support any client whose pets need a little more encouragement in engaging with their human families. Other courses included are `Canine 1st Aid,' 'Behaviour Happens for a Reason,' Safety and Risk Assessment for all Trainers and Behaviourists,' and 'Learning Theory Explained.' Most recently, in 2023, Teresa gained a Professional Dog Walking Certificate through the IMDT and continues to develop her knowledge of dogs and dog behaviour. These courses have been invaluable with developing the bond Teresa has with her client's dogs, and any other pets she cares for. For further information about Dog Training and Behaviour please refer to the section in 'Other Details'.
Teresa also holds certificates in First Aid for cats, dogs, and horses, has a clear police check and is fully insured through Pet Business Insurance.

Teresa has been such a great support with our rescue boy. We adopted him in January 2018 without fully understanding the extent of his dog aggression and we very quickly realised that it was more than we could handle on our own. We found Teresa via NarpsUK and we haven't looked back. She has supported us with a behavioural programme to help our boy and it has made such a difference to us and most importantly him. He has gone from being an anxious and reactive dog to relaxing and enjoying his walks. Teresa has also invested in us, as owners so that we can help him. She provides us with guidance and support so that we can all work together to have lovely walks. Our boy is a totally different dog on his walks now and although we are still on our journey we couldn't do it without Teresa. She has been our rock and I couldn't recommend her more. Teresa is as dedicated to our boys future happiness and loves him as much as we do and we are very grateful to have found her. Teresa is incredibly passionate, knowledgable and perceptive and we'd be lost without her 😀.
